I am a faux painter, with a background of art and am certified
through the Rhode Island School of Design in decorative painting.
I recently moved to the Cape Cod area and want to share my enthusiasm
of color, unique wall finishes, Venetian plaster, and hand painting;
all for your home pleasure. I've been in business for ten years,
and worked in a design store for eight years, along with my love
of painting.
When
selecting colors or finishes, I look for a starting point in your
room, such as carpet, a sofa, tile, or fabrics. Paint is the easiest
way to make a change in your home. Subtle or dramatic, how many
times have you witnessed the difference fresh wall color makes
in a room? I consider harmony and balance, size and scale of the
room, your furnishings, and the elements of lighting. All of these
will impact the choice of color.
What is faux? Faux means fake. It is illusion painting. With the
use of paint and glaze, I can reproduce the look of marble or
stone. For a more sophisticated look, I can select a monochromatic
color scheme, and paint stripes to give you a feeling of serenity.
Color washes combined with stencils, can duplicate the rich feeling
of wallpaper. Formal or informal, old world or contemporary, whimsical
and fun-all can be achieved with the proper use of paint, glaze
and color.
More trendy are the Venetian plasters. I can take a plain wall
and turn it into an aged old century wall, or recreate lime wash,
leathers, embossed stencils and kitchen tiles.
My hand painting techniques can be applied to wall for accents
or transform pieces of furniture. Great ideas for children's rooms
or the nursery.
So let's turn your ordinary wall into an extraordinary wall. Whether
your just looking for help with color selections, or a more personalized
look in your home with a wall finish, give me a call at 508-563-1073.
